Even though I am not a professional nutritionist in the last 8 years I have had vast real world experience in the application of different eating programs. I hesitate to use the word diet. Diet to me means temporary change to what you would normally eat. We talk a lot about the “CrossFit Lifestyle” and if you look at the chart above, nutrition is the base of the pyramid. Eating a diet of meat, veggies, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch and no sugar has in my experience, given measurable, repeatable results in body composition and overall performance in CrossFit and life in general. Another term for this diet is Paleo and if you have spent any time around the gym you have heard this term come up. If you are newer and need some more details feel free to let me or some of the other coaches know and we will be glad to help. The single most important thing you can do to improve your overall fitness is to take a hard look at your diet and see how close it is to the one listed above. It doesn’t have to be a cold turkey thing either. Again if you need any help as one of the coaches.
